Complaint States: Purchased food from this location on April 30th around 10am: krystal burgers, chili pups and ice coca-cola. After eating the chili pup, she tasted a chemical, possibly roach spray. She immediately began to vomit. She went to St. Dominic's afterwards and was told she possibly had food poisoning. She had blood test, vitals, and CT scan or MRI performed. Her blood pressure was abnormally high, severe headache, and chills. No stool test was conducted. She's still experiencing headaches. Met with manager on 5/18/22 about the above stated complaint. Manager stated that she did not work for Krystal on the date of 4/30/22, but she would be glad to show inspector anything that could help. Manager first showed Inspector the dates that pest control came to facility. The last 2 pest control inspections were done by Eco Labs and they were completed on 4/7/22 and 5/10/22. Manager showed inspector where chemical are stored at facility. Chemical are stored on a storage shelf in the back of the building away from all food products. They are used in general cleaning and sanitizing of the Restaurant. When used they are suppose to be brought back and stored on this shelf. Inspector did not see any chemicals in the kitchen or food prep areas during the inspection. This facility uses QAC sanitizer for cleaning dishes and is used to wipe any food prep areas. For the food prep areas it is stored in sanitizer buckets on bottom shelf of kitchen equipment. All buckets were tested all read the correct 200 PPM. Manager also showed how food is delivered by US FOODS, and a designated Krystal employee receives the food when delivered. This employee takes temps and makes sure that any chemical that are delivered are put in the designated Chemical Storage Area. This employee is also responsible for storing all the food products in the correct area upon delivery. The manager also showed inspector on how each item of food that was consumed on 4/30/22 is prepared. Krystal burgers are moved from walk-in cooler to the cooler below the griddle in cooking area. The buns are stored along side of this area. The employee will cook the burgers on griddle, place bun on then once done transfer to a box, then into bag. The employee has on gloves and uses tongs for this procedure. The chili is delivered in sealed bags, and placed in cooler. The chili is then moved from cooler to a warming pot where it gets to correct temperature of 155 degrees then taken out of the sealed bag and put in a hot holding equipment to be held at 135 degrees. Inspector did not find any chemicals around the areas from cooler to where the food is held and prepared, then prepared and handed to customer. All staff have designated areas for any medicine or personal products in the back of the facility. All employee are trained the first day of employment on keeping any personal products in their storage area away from any food storage or prep area.
