InvestigationHistory
03/06/2026 The Loaded Tea Shop/Champs Tea Shop ID#6245474 330 Courthouse Road Gulfport, MS 39507 This inspection addressed a complaint about the firm operating out of shipping containers. Upon arrival, the firm was operating out of shipping containers and inside of the permitted unit. Owner, Mr. Mark Powell reported that production of the flavored tea packets was only operating as a training center. Issued an Official Notice of Public Health Violation with a notice of immediate Cease and Desist Operation for reasons of 1) violation of regulation Title 15 Mississippi State Department of Health, Part III Office of Health Protection, Subpart 75 Food Protection, 2) any circumstances where the operation of the food service establishment constitutes a hazard to the public health. A group meeting was held on-site addressing the firm’s production. The employees on-site were Mark Powell (Owner), Chelsey Lawton (people operations manager), Jeremy Moore (training instructor) and virtual was Cameron Maag (VP of strategic for MAA). I was informed that production for all products that enter commerce trade was being transferred to a permitted facility in Linden, Utah. Facility name is Somafina and is listed as a co-manufacturing company. The complete transition will occur on 03/07/2026. Mark Powell reported at all products located on-site at the Gulfport unit were for training purposes only and will not enter interstate traffic. The firm has four separate training units set up. The company is testing different methods for dust particle control. Requested the company to provide the following records: • The last production records for fulfillment orders-Mark Powell reported that as 02/23/2026. • A traceback example on the gummie bar packet that was produced on 02/20/2026. • Provide a production count of all products that have entered interstate traffic. • Provide a production count of all training products and their locations. A follow-up inspection for the above-mentioned records was scheduled for 03/09/2026. This allowed the firm to continue with the training center but to keep vital production records to ensure products remain out of interstate traffic.
