COMPLAINT MADE THAT A CUSTOMER BECAME ILL AFTER EATING AT THE BUFFET JAN 13, 2010 AND HAD TO BE HOSPITALIZED. A TOTAL OF FOUR PEOPLE WAS SICK.

ORIGINALLY CALLED COMPLAINANT LAST WEEK AND WAS NOT ABLE TO REACH. SPOKE WITH THE INDIVIDUAL THAT WAS HOSPITALIZED AND GAIN MORE INFORMATION. WENT TO THE RESTAURANT 1/26/2010 AND CHECKED FOOD TEMPS ON THE BUFFET, SANITIZERS, COOL-DOWN, STORAGE OF SILVERWARE, AND OTHER FOOD SAFETY PRACTICES, AND ALL WAS GOOD. DISCUSSED HOW THE CHICKEN IS RECIEVED, PREPPED, COOKED, HELDED, REHEATED, AND SERVED FOR GENERAL'S CHICKEN. THE PROCESS FLOWED SAFELY. MADE SEVERAL RECOMMENDATIONS AND ADVISEMENTS CONCERNING PROPER HANDLING OF SILVERWARE AND/OR OTHER UTENSILS/SERVING CONTAINERS. ADVISED TO HANDLE UTENSILS/SERVING CONTAINERS FROM THE BASE TO HELP PREVENT CONTAMINATION. SILVERWARE IS OBSERVED WITH THE EATING END UP. THE OWNER STATED THAT THEY WILL USE GLOVES TO WRAP SILVERWARE AND TURNED THE UTENSILS DOWN WITH HANDLES UP AT THE BUFFET. ADVISED TO BE SURE THE DISHWASHER IS ALSO HANDLING DIRTY AND CLEAN DISHES PROPERLY. DID NOT OBSERVE ANYONE SICK AND OWNER STATES THAT THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANYONE REPORTED SICK WITHIN THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS. WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR DURING INSPECTIONS
