InvestigationHistory
Via Phone, explained to the cafeteria manager that the materials for indoor floor, wall, and ceiling surfaces shall be smooth, durable, and EASILY CLEANABLE for areas where foood establishment operations are conducted. Heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems shall be designed and installed so that make-up air intake and exhaust vents do not cause contamination within the cafeteria food area, food contact surfaces, equipment, or utensils. Equipment components shall be kept intact and in good repair and properly adjusted. Basically, the problem needs to be fixed/repaired before new ceiling tiles are installed. Otherwise it defeats the purpose of installing new ceiling tiles. Advised to ensure the air conditioners, HVAC systems, and air/ventilation ducts are clean and functioning properly. Mold spores can travel through the air. Spoke with the Industrial Hygienist and he stated during our phone conversation that he needs alittle time to fully resolve the issue. Once the HVAC person comes out to check the system and determines what is needed to fix the problem, they will forward information to me of the corrective action taken or that will be taken. I will follow-up on this complaint by the scheduled inspection in September to ensure it is being addressed. Also ensure all food and food equipment is protected.
