Received complaint of possible food borne illness, Complainant stated that she ate at the facility around 7-8:00 PM on 3/13/2015. Complainant stated that her and two other members in her party became sick with her symptoms starting around 2:00 am 3/14/2015 with nausea, vomiting (8 hrs) diarrhea, headaches and chills. two of the party that became sick had Gumbo and the third had tasted the gumbo. Did full FBI interview over the phone and advised that MSDH may be contacting her in the future for more info if needed.

On Monday 3/16/2015 I received complaint of possible food borne illness. Facility does not open until 5:00 pm Tues. Arrived at facility about 3:45 PM Went over complaint with cook who stated he was aware of the complaint> a person had called over the weekend. Went over Gumbo preparation Gumbo is made in 5 gallon quantities which consist of the roux. onion, okra, and various seasonings. No seafood is added until warmed for service. * Observed small pot of gumbo-seafood added on stove (145F) being heated to 165F. * Observed 2- 5gallon containers of gumbo base in walk in freezer dated 3/15/2015 and frozen solid. * Observed 1 used 5 gal. container in walk in cooler dated 2/28 but was thawed 3/14/2015 for use- temped 36F. Owner stated that he receives fresh local seafood from DeSports in Biloxi MS on Tues, Thurs, and Sat or as needed. No violations were observed during inspection.
