Complaint  A septic tank has been placed on the lot next to us. The lot is 160x90. Other people had been told that there was not room for a septic tank and fill lines. The fill lines are very close to our property line. It is our understanding that the fill lines must be 100 ft. from someone's property line. These fill lines are not. On one side it is perhaps 20 feet and the other side perhaps 40 feet. On one side we have a garden and the land is sloping and we are afraid this waste water will seep into our garden. We talked to the land owner and he said the lady at the Pontotoc County Office told him that since there was already a water meter on the property that it would be ok to install a tank and that the water would all go straight down and not flow into our property. All the other people that lived there had a water meter but they never qualified for a septic tank. We know that there was never an inspection made when this tank was put down. We were under the impression that there had to be an inspection before the tank was put down and also after installation.
