Complaint  I live in Fountainbleu Apartments. Last Friday, February 7, 2014, feces, toilet paper, and untreated wastewater/sewage began to pump out of two (overflow?) 4 inch PVC pipes sticking out of the ground. These pipes are withing 20 feet of my door, and closer to other neighbors' doors. The sewage have been pumping out at a steady rate since it began, where it pools in place before traveling 30 feet into a draining culvert. Behind the building, there are another two PVC pipes pumping out raw sewage; this runs down the parking lot into a drainage ditch no more than 10 feet from the Longleaf Trace. There is a pool of feces, toilet paper, and other flushables, as well as a 'river' of sewage and toilet paper emanating from both locations. The apartment says its the cities problem to fix; the city hasn't fixed it. The apartment refuses to take responsibility. Meanwhile, once again, there is untreated sewage and feces everywhere.

Investigation History  Environmentalist went out and investigated the complaint found clean out caps of the clean out and seen wastewater and toilet paper, feces on top of the ground. The Apartments are on city sewer. I informed management they need to put the caps back on the clean out pipe and clean up and disinfect the areas with septic lime that had wastewater, feces and toilet paper on top of the ground they told me they will get it done.. Environmentalist will go back next week on a follow up inspection to make sure problem has been fixed. I talked with Jeffery Green from city he told me they know about the problem he said when it rains a lot like it has in the last couple days the rain water gets in the apartments septic lines and blows the caps of the clean out pipes. Jeffery said the city has informed the property owner to fix the problem he needs to tie into the new sewer manhole the city has put in but he has not tied into it yet. I informed management at the apartments that they need to tie into the new manhole to fix the problem. They informed me the owner is going to get in touch with the city on Friday to see what they need to do to tie into the new manhole and get it done so they do not have any more problems.
2/18/2014- County Environmentalist went and did a follow up inspection infected area has been cleaned up and disinfected with septic lime. Closing complaint.
