Complaint  FEMA trailer is being used as a permanent residence. It is connected to a septic treatment spray system that is no longer operable. Occupants have connected sewage hose to inground tank. Electricity is being furnished through an extension cord to main home. Water is supplied via a water hose connected to the well.

Investigation History  PHE assigned to this complaint on 3/31/14. Visited site. Trailer is connected to an advanced treatment system. However, trailer does not appear to be connected to an electricity source. Extension cords and water hoses alongside of trailer leading to an old home. No sewage on ground. No odor present. Left business card at site. Will attempt to locate property owners. Will also notify building code office.
4/4/14 Unable to contact property owners. Sent enforcement notice to property owners as shown by E911 address department.
4/18/14 Property owner contacted this office. Travel trailer is self-contained and property owner will disconnect from treatment plant until electricity can be provided. Due to medical situation, property owner given until 5/15/14 to provide electricity to home and connect to treatment plant.
5/14/14 Visited site. Property is using electricity from adjacent home. Travel trailer is self-contained. No sewage on ground or leaving property. Left message with property owner. Will continue to monitor.
6/9/14 Visited site. Camper does not appear to be occupied at this time. Left message with property owner to verify.
6/17/14 Property owner contacted this office. States trailer is disconnected and will be removed from site once weather permits. Will continue to monitor.
6/18/14 Visited site. Trailer has been disconnected from ATU and is no longer occupied. Situation resolved.
