Date Of Complaint  04/22/2017 
Complaint  The Coast Guard recommended me filing this complaint against the Smithville Marina. Mr. Scott Cox has numerous campers in parking lot that we are uncertain if sewage is properly being disposed of. We know a pump out sewage system is not installed on pier and at least six live aboard (24/7) boats that are dumping sewage directly into the Tenn-Tom Waterway. People are fishing from the pier and boats around these live aboard boats! There are electrical cords that need to be inspected running to both campers and boats also. The owner, Scott Cox, has a traveling job and does not manage his property but lets the live a boards do as they please. The marina is run down and no one uses it as a recreational facility any longer. Please have someone check the sewage disposal and the electrical cord situation. Two women in Tuscaloosa were electrocuted at a pier just last week! We don't want that to happen in Smithville!

Investigation History  The marina part of the comp has been turnered over to the corp of eng. and deq. Thecamp ground wastewater comp has been repaired.
