Complaint
I understand from your website that potential contamination of ground and surface waters is a public health concern; and proper disposal of wastewater is critical as the population expands in rural areas of our state. The George County Health Dept. (as well as the State of Mississippi, it appears) has authorized FIVE INDIVIDUAL FAMILIES to set up dwellings on a small two-acre parcel, which contains twelve individual septic tanks. There is insufficient land for safe and efficient leach fields, presenting a danger to these residents, as well as the adjacent neighborhood, through water runoff. 164 Tut Road usually has flooding during moderate rainfall events. HAS THIS PARCEL BEEN APPROVED BY THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI TO OPERATE AS EITHER A SUBDIVISION OR COMMERCIAL TRAILER PARK? On one acre, there are four dwellings each occupied by a separate family and there is a new house being built on the other acre. Note that the SOUTH one-acre parcel (with FOUR dwellings and FOUR families) ALSO UTILIZES THE SEPTIC TANKS ON THE NORTH ONE-ACRE PARCEL, ON WHICH A NEW HOUSE IS BEING BUILT. Also note that the septic tanks being used were installed without leach/field/drain lines and were condemned. Thank you.
